How can we optimize our Googlebase feed to achieve better placement for Google Product searches?
How can we optimize our Googlebase feed to achieve better placement for Google Product searches?
Solution
A- Google maintains the same "seo best practices" methodology should be used on your products both for product search and their regular search. That said, it is good to make sure you load your product names with keywords as close to the beginning of the name as possible. They also encourage placing keywords and keyword phrases as close to the beginning of your product descriptions as you can.
Also, it is always extremely helpful to solicit good incoming links to your product pages.
There are a few attributes which are available in Googlebase such as "google-base-product-type" which is a sort of informal categorization. If you want to individually categorize your products in Googlebase, you can create and populate a custom property in your Yahoo store called "google-base-product-type" (type: text) and place a category name in this field. We will automatically pick this data from your store and load it into your product data feed.
